Position Description:
Recruit & retain Chamber members along with selling event sponsorships to local businesses through various marketing and referral programs and customer satisfaction. This is a very visible role within the Chamber and the community that reports directly to the Chamber President/CEO.
This opportunity is perfect for anyone looking to contribute to their community while learning skills that can be leveraged for growth opportunities in the Chamber or external career paths.
Position is a fixed part-time position, will consider flexible work hours and a hybrid office/home schedule.
 
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and keep prospecting list current and updated at all times
  • Primarily responsible for the recruitment of new members at a rate consistent with the goals and objectives of the Chamber’s budget
  • Engage new members early with a focus on long-term partnerships and value of Chamber membership
  • Attend staff meetings as well as other Chamber functions, including but not limited to, Member Mixers, Networking Events, Chamber Luncheons, etc.
  • Reinforces the Chamber’s professional image and member-centered culture
  • Develop a strong working knowledge of the Chamber and its various programs
  • Always represent the Chamber professionally and positively
 
Required Skills, Education & Certifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Sales or Marketing preferred
  • Membership sales and membership based organization experience preferred
  • Experience in Sales and with Salesforce preferred
  • Proficiency with MS Office, calendar program (MS Outlook), relational database and internet
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated, with high energy and engaging level of enthusiasm
  • High level of integrity and work ethic
  • Strong problem identification and resolution skills
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Must be organized with good time management skills
  • Travel is very limited outside of Atlanta's top end Perimeter area, however AE is expected to get outside and call on prospects in person. Must have own transportation.
  • Have the ability to work flexible hours, including some evening and early morning events
