Meet our Panelists:

Dr. Shayna Smith, MD
Dr. Smith attended college at Xavier University of Louisiana and then graduated from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Medicine in 2005. After medical school, she completed her General Pediatric Residency and Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. A job in the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta emergency department brought her to Atlanta in 2011. A few years ago, she decided to work as a primary care pediatrician in the North Fulton area while also continuing to serve as a pediatric emergency physician when needed. She currently lives in Roswell with her son and enjoys yoga, traveling, and interior design.

Stephanie Braatz, MSN,NP-C, AOCNP, Chief Clinical Officer Piedmont Cancer Institute

Stephanie has dedicated 21 years to Piedmont Cancer Institute, not Piedmont Healthcare. She began her journey at PCI as a registered nurse, progressing to become the infusion team lead, nurse practitioner, and, for the past eight years, the Chief Clinical Officer. She oversees a clinical team across six locations in the metro area. Established in 1987 as Peachtree Hematology Consultants, PCI evolved into Piedmont Cancer Institute with seventeen physicians and nineteen advanced practice providers. The ongoing expansion of PCI underscores its commitment to providing exceptional care to the greater Atlanta community.
