Peers Empowering Peers, Inc.

About Us

Peers Empowering Peers opened its doors to the public in November of 2018 with this mission:

“To assist persons in all pathways of recovery to access educational, legal, employment, medical, and behavioral health community-based services.”

Initially serving about 20 Peers a month, the organization is growing rapidly and currently serves over 200 Peers monthly, with over 600 interactions per month. Our services are offered at no cost. They include community training, mutual support groups, and community events. We assist people from all walks of life who are affected by addiction, mental health challenges or seeking wellness and recovery support.

Our goal for 2020 is to make connections with the recovery community and become an integral part of the recovery in Sandy Springs. We have been successful in utilizing the resources in the area and gaining the trust of peers seeking recovery. We empower our peers by offering them resources and sharing our personal experience to help them become self-sufficient and invested in their recovery. We assist them in obtaining IDs, employment, mental health services, food, and access to housing resources, treatment options, and long-term recovery support.

Our focus in 2020 will be to collaborate with Sandy Springs businesses and community members to provide additional resources for those seeking recovery. We welcome community members at our events and encourage them to become recovery Allies providing resources such as office skills, work clothing, and donations for basic needs including groceries and transports.
